I'm a painter based in Rotterdam. My work explores the quiet beauty of everyday life — how light falls across a table in the morning, the texture of worn surfaces, the stillness of an empty room.
I work primarily in oils, though I also paint in acrylics and watercolor. Each medium has its own rhythm, its own way of holding light and shadow.
Painting is how I pay attention. It's a practice of slowing down and looking closely at the world around me.
I begin each painting with observation — often spending more time looking than painting. I work from life when possible, from memory when not. The paintings are built up in layers, with each session adding depth and nuance.
